Course Description:
Infant massage is a serious of strokes done on infants to stimulate the immune system, circulatory system, muscle tone, digestion and the nervous system. As with adults, massage can be effective on the whole body. This course teaches you how to safely and effectively perform infant massage.


Learning Outcomes & Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to identify the benefits of Infant massage for the Infant, Parent, Caregiver and Medical community.
  2. Students will be able to correctly identify the appropriate strokes.
  3. Students will be able to understand the methodology behind the strokes.
  4. Students will be able to strategize how to adapt strokes to older populations.
  5. Students will be able to understand the limitations of working with infants.
  6. Students will be able to find marketing opportunities in the community.

About the Instructor:

Mary Beth Clancy-Halayko LMT, RMT, CIMI, CPMT

Mary Beth is a graduate of CNWSMT.  Currently, she works for St. Peter’s Hospital providing Labor and Delivery massage, and medical massage throughout the hospital.  Equally important, she performs NICU massage with a strong focus on opioid-addicted babies, and has had wonderful results.  She has also done massage in Hospice for the past 12 years.  Through CNWSMT, Mary Beth teaches community service at the Damien Center for patients with HIV/AIDS and at St. Peter’s Hospice, as well.  Additionally, Mary Beth is the Chairperson for the NYS Massage Therapy Board.  Mary Beth believes that positive, nurturing touch is important at all stages of life.
