Course Description:
Craniosacral Integration, a powerful hands-on approach that treats and supports the body’s wisdom and its innate ability to heal, is a wonderful tool to add to your existing massage practice. It gently addresses the spine, skull, sacrum, and fascia to treat pain and trauma as well as supports the body’s self healing process.  Craniosacral Therapy has been around for a long time but lately it has become an increasingly popular therapy due to its effectiveness and safety. This workshop provides a thorough introduction to a powerful and unique light touch therapy.

Learning Outcomes & Objectives:

  1. Become aware and identify various body rhythms, through guided meditations and  palpation.
  2. Describe the importance of the Cranial Rhythm /tides as an assessment tool.
  3. Palpate and identify subtle motions in the body and how to work with them.
  4. Describe the theory behind the different layers of the rhythms/tides.
  5. Identify two basic approaches to the work: biomechanical versus biodynamic.
  6. Name what conditions best respond to Cranial therapy and why.
  7. Develop deeper intuitive skills.
  8. Recognize the major differences in performing Craniosacral as opposed to other therapeutic types of massage or bodywork.
  9. Recognize the development, history and the osteopathic roots of Craniosacral Integration therapy.
  10. Identify the basic principles of Craniosacral Therapy.
  11. Describe the anatomy and physiology of the Craniosacral system.
  12. Become familiar with the power of a light touch and its unique attributes.
  13. Perform several techniques of Cranial holds for palpation of the Craniosacral rhythms or tides.
  14. Perform palpation of the sacrum : identify motions and motility.
  15. Review the physical nature of CST.
  16. Review the energetic nature of CST.
  17. List the structures which form the anatomical Craniosacral system (membranes, bones of cranium, cerebral spinal fluid, the fascia).
  18. Identify the populations which most benefit from Craniosacral Therapy.
  19. List common clients’ responses during a session and how it differs from a regular massage session.
  20. Identify the indications and contraindications for use of Craniosacral technique.
  21. Experience becoming attuned to their own Craniosacral motions.
  22. Experience the science and art of palpation while working with a partner on the table.
  23. Learn and experience the importance of therapeutic  presence while preforming Craniosacral Therapy.
  24. Become aware of the various signals emanating from the body tissues that indicate the easing of constriction in the muscles and the connective tissue.
  25. Perform Craniosacral beginner’s palpation skills.
  26. Experience the use of energetic touch.
  27. Deepen the anatomical knowledge of the structures they will be palpating.
  28. Recognize and experience the concept of Neutrality in Craniosacral.
  29. Deepen your perceptual skills; find the stillness within.
  30. Experience a new way of approaching bodywork: doing less being more.
  31. Integrate few basic Craniosacral techniques with massage techniques.

About the Instructor:

Nurit Nardi   MA LMT RCST

Nurit is a national and international teacher known for her ability to integrate holistic approaches resulting in a high degree of emotional and physical wellness. She has over 30 years of experience in the healing profession. She specializes in teaching and developing continuing education programs in Craniosacral Therapy for the Massage Therapist, as well as training and teaching imagery and dream work for transformation on all levels. Her training and her experiences as a licensed massage therapist, a registered Biodyanamic Craniosacral therapist, a Transpersonal therapist, a Focusing advanced practitioner and an expert teacher and practitioner in transformational dream and imagery work, has kept her involved in many cross disciplinary ventures. Nurit’s passion is teaching. She has been a teacher at the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in NYC for 15 years, and is a certified teacher who works nationally and internationally through the School of Images in NYC ( under the supervision of its founder Dr. Catherine Shainberg. She has also developed many cross disciplinary workshops in the field of immunology and health, a mind body approach to calming stress and anxiety, and more.
