Within the premise of the fact that everything you eat becomes your organs, tissues, blood, muscle, bone, thoughts and feeling it makes sense to eat differently to gain the results you want for different activities.Eating for What You Want to Accomplish is a one time, two-hour course providing information and discussion on how certain foods help—or hinder—a person when ingested. The course will cover how sugar has an effect on the body, including natural sweeteners and artificial sweeteners, how proper hydration can balance out energy levels and key foods for assisting in long-lasting sustainable energy. Mela Stevens is a certified nutrition and wellness counselor, consultant and writer. In addition to her work with in person individual clients in private practice in Manhattan, Northern Dutchess County, NY and the tri-state area, she also has a phone clientele working with individuals and groups around the country and in the UK. She is currently completing her first book, based upon the Whole Body Works program, and is a contributing nutrition and wellness writer. Utilizing integrative nutrition and wellness education, her specialty is assisting clients in finding a way to eat, manage stress, movement, quality of rest, relaxation and overall fun within the context of individual lifestyle. Many corporate executives, business owners and entrepreneurs, among others, have found their way to Mela over the past five years.Mela has been a wellness coach for IBM and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield among other corporations. She has been a rotating nutrition educator at the New Age Health Spa in the foothills of the Catskills in upstate New York, and the on-site nutrition counselor at several fitness centers. She has run workshops for senior citizens and including college students. And, she has been a Whole Foods and Wellness Contributing Editor to Boomer-Living.com, a website geared toward the baby boomer demographic. Mela studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories and is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). |
