Course Description:

EarthStone Hot Stone Massage 2: Advanced Skills for Stoneworkers is for those who already practice Stone Massage and want to deepen their work. You will learn more in-depth about the physiology behind the effectiveness of using heated stones as tools to release tight muscles and soften scar tissue and fascia—all while reducing strain on the therapist’s body. You’ll learn how to use the stones in specific, therapeutic work, and helpful “tricks” on using the stones to make your work easier and more effective. This is a hands-on course; the instructor will email participants prior to class for input on what particular body areas or conditions they may want to address in class, such as neck, pecs, back / or carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, etc.

***Target Audience: Licensed Massage Therapists already practicing Stone Massage (have done at least 20 treatments)

BRING: 1 set of sheets, 2 extra pillow cases, blanket, 1 bath towel, 8 hand towels, 10 to 14 palm-sized “working stones”, and “utensils” to handle your stones. If you need stones, you can purchase a “Working Set” of 14 palm-sized stones for $49 from EarthStone; email or call the instructor directly to order and she will bring your set to class, by-passing shipping costs. You can view the set at www.earthstonemassage.com . Heating units and lubricant are provided. Any questions about supplies, or stone orders, can be addressed directly with the instructor by emailing info@earthstonemassage.com , or by calling 315-420-8674.

Dress appropriately for working with heat.
