11 AM - 6 PM Both Days Sat & Sun (Two day class) March 2nd & 3rd (Snow date: March 23rd & 24th) Please bring a set of clean sheets. No lubricant required but lotion may be needed depending on skin. This class offers a thorough review of the musculature and structures of the lower leg with a demonstration of advanced myofascial release deep tissue techniques and sequences to reduce a variety of pain issues including plantar fasciitis, heel pain, toe pain, and shin splints, as well as pain in the knees, hips and low back related to misaligned ankles and feet. The course will show specific techniques and sequences that can be used with the client in prone, side lying, and supine positions. Each participant will have time for hands-on practice. More about the class: - Gain an understanding of the anatomy and healthy function of the lower leg and how it relates to the upper leg, pelvis, and back. - Learn to assess limitations and misalignments in the ankle and foot and surrounding structures that may be contributing to clients' feeling - Learn to apply myofascial release techniques in multiple positions to help clients improve movement and alignment of the ankles and feet to alleviate related discomfort and/or pain. Category: Deep Tissue Techniques Instructor Bio: David Weintraub, LMT received his massage therapy education at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY. He graduated and became a licensed massage therapist in NYS in 2007. In 2013, he finished his life and business coaching education during a year-long intensive with Accomplishment Coaching. His bodywork is a unique blend of deep tissue techniques, including connective tissue therapy and neuromuscular therapy, movement therapies, stretching and energy balancing. David is the owner of Bodyworks DW in NYC. He teaches continuing education for NYS & Nationally approved massage therapy courses online and in-person (NCBTMB#1000618). In addition, he is a board director for the New York State Society of Medical Massage Therapists, a non-profit formed in 1927 to advance the massage therapy community in NYS.
