Service Description

11 AM - 6 PM Both Days Sat & Sun (Two-day class) October 26th & October 27th Please bring a set of clean sheets. No lubricant required but lotion may be needed depending on skin. In this workshop, we’ll do a thorough review of the musculature and structures connecting abdominals, rib cage, shoulders and neck. We’ll also demonstrate advanced deep tissue techniques and sequences to mobilize the rib cage and breathing muscles including psoas and diaphragm releases. This course will show specific techniques and sequences that can be used with the client in any position. These techniques will provide relief for low, mid and upper back pain, and also shoulder/neck pain. Each participant will have time for hands-on practice. More about the class: - Conduct a review of relevant anatomy of musculature related to the rib cage and respiration - Learn assessment of client alignment and how to see improper or inefficient rib cage alignment - Practice assessing each others' alignment - Learn and discuss creating treatment plans based on reading of client misalignments - Observe and practice treatment techniques to mobilize and realign the rib cage in prone, supine, and side lying positions Category: Deep Tissue Techniques/MFR Instructor Bio: David Weintraub, LMT received his massage therapy education at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY. He graduated and became a licensed massage therapist in NYS in 2007. In 2013, he finished his life and business coaching education during a year-long intensive with Accomplishment Coaching. His bodywork is a unique blend of deep tissue techniques, including connective tissue therapy and neuromuscular therapy, movement therapies, stretching and energy balancing. David is the owner of Bodyworks DW in NYC. He teaches continuing education for NYS & Nationally approved massage therapy courses online and in-person (NCBTMB#1000618). In addition, he is a board director for the New York State Society of Medical Massage Therapists, a non-profit formed in 1927 to advance the massage therapy community in NYS.
