Service Description
"Bringing Shiatsu & Thai Techniques Together" Instructor: Michael Corcoran, LMT Sunday, Sept 21st 9am - 12pm Free for CNW Graduates Description of the Mary Crinnin's Continuing Education Class (to be taught by Michael Corcoran): The goal is to have students gain trust in themselves as they practice implementing different techniques and develop their skills through guided, positional investigation. CNW graduates should already have the basic understanding of all five elements and the 12 meridians. We will explore the channels further by putting together Thai and Shiatsu techniques in varying positions: supine, prone, side-lying and/or seated positions. While demonstrating the collection of techniques in any combination of these positions, deeper discussion may include: classical assessment, CSOE (color, sound, odor, emotion), locations, symptoms of imbalance, session protocols. Students will have a chance to practice after demonstration and may choose to incorporate: any technique combination in varying positions, hara assessment, mu/shu points, choosing a plan of action and practice balancing all 5 elements in the body. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring two flat sheets and at least two pillows for comfortable positioning. Please arrive early to find parking, sign in, choose a shiatsu mat & partner. Class starts promptly at 9am. This free CE class from 9am - 12pm is open to CNW graduates as part of our annual picnic. Lunch will be available after class ends at noon. Please also stick around for the raffle drawing and free chair massage by current students.
